Bellator FC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez spoke with The Fight Nerd recently about his upcoming title defense against Pat Curran, the man who was supposed to challenge him last October for his belt but was forced to withdraw due to an injury and fought Roger Huerta instead (who he destroyed). The pair are looking to meet finally at Bellator 39 in Connecticut for his title, which will also see the second round of their welterweight tournament continue. I spoke with Alvarez about his fight strategy, if he prefers to be the champion or the contender, and we learn more about his brother, Albert Alvarez's budding MMA career (who we met at the Bellator tryouts) as well as their new MMA store in Philadelphia.
