This fight came into the history of Russian MMA. In June of 2012 American athlete Jeff Monson who wasn’t Russian citizen nor Russian politic by that moment, was known in Russia mostly as the fighter who fought against Fedor Emelianenko at the great M-1 event in Moscow. After that defeat Jeff recovered and fought three more times. He won in two of them, the third was the draw. After that Jeff got the chance to come back to M-1 events. It was at another great event in St.-Petersburg, where Fedor was the headliner again, this time Fedor’s opponent was legendary Pedro Rizzo.
