Former UFC Interim Champ Carlos Condit Retires

Carlos Condit has retired from MMA after 46 fights and almost 20 years in the sport. Condit turned 37 in April. In 2012 Condit became the UFC interim champion when he won a unanimous decision over Nick Diaz at UFC 143. But he ended up losing a UD to GSP and was unable to unify the belt. A few years later Condit was able to secure another title shot vs Robbie Lawler, and while one judge thought Condit won, the other 2 gave it Robbie and once again Condit came up short in winning the belt, this time by an extremely small margin. Unfortunately for Condit he was never able to get back to title contention, he lost his next 4 to Maia, Magny, Oliveira and Chiesa, then won 2 vs Court McGee and Matt Brown, before losing his final fight to Max Griffin in July.
