Mid-round there was a good flurry from Guerra but the rest of the round was controlled by Nelson's striking and footwork. Round three saw Nelson land a good head kick early that Guerra took well. Several times the fighters stood toe-to-toe and exchanged brutal punches with neither willing to back away. Finally Nelson was able stagger Guerra and take standing back/side control and drag him to the mat.
