The World Fight League, WFL, should be launching in 2023. Ariel Helwani noted that it's going to have a structure similar to sports leagues like the NFL, NHL, and NBA. It would have an association with a 50-50 revenue share, collective bargaining, guaranteed contracts, health insurance, and pensions. What makes it a bit unusual is the league will have independent franchise owners who have a team of athletes signed from free agency or by a league entry draft. Teams compete in home and away competitions going for a playoff spot. As fans, hardly would probably care about such a team format, because MMA is not played out like a team sport. It's one on one.
