Heavyweight picture looks clearer now that Ngannou has officially left, Gane and Jones fight for the belt, and now Stipe has emerged from hibernation with a declaration that he wants to take on the winner of that fight in July. Stipe rarely fights at all, if he fights in July he will have averaged less than 1 fight a year over the past 6 years. He's only fought 2 guys in that period: Ngannou and Cormier. The Stipe Jones is one that was teased by the UFC for a long period of time but never came to fruition; so if that happens it will be a good one, but Stipe vs Gane would also be a competitive matchup between guys who have never been matched up yet. So at least the wheels are in motion in the heavyweight division and things are moving after a long period of stagnation at the top. So the top 2 guys have been taken care of, and then you could match up #3 and #4 against each other. Pavlovich vs Blaydes; Blaydes expects that to happen.
