Dominick Reyes is mad he's the opening fight on the prelims vs Ryan Spann at UFC 281. Not too long ago headlined a pay per view and almost won the title vs Jon Jones, then he co main evented a pay per view, then main evented a fight night card, and now is the opening fight on the prelims. It's more about respect than anything else, because he gets paid the same regardless off whether he open up the early prelims or not, but the higher up you are on the card the more prestige attached to it. As a fan though this is good, it shows you have a really good card when they have fights that could headline a fight night card as a prelim opener. And also if you're going to watch an entire card from start to finish, that could be a 7 hour investment of time so it's not necessarily bad to have some really good fights intermingled with some ones that may not be intriguing.
