UFC 282 on December 10th is the targeted date for Prochazka vs Teixeira 2. These two had the fight of the year in June, an absolutely insane fight that ended with 28 seconds left and of all things, it was Jiri getting a choke to finish it. If anyone in the cosmos was mad enough to put a lot of money on Jiri by submission in round 5, it must've paid off astronomically well. So great rematch of a fight that will one day be in the UFC HOF. The light heavyweight division had 3 champs in 7 months with Jan, Glover, and Jiri, and since Jones left the division it feels like on any given day anyone could be champ there. For a good decade Jones ruled the division and while he'd get stripped of the belt at times, it'd always come back to him in the end. They'd break up and make up multiple times, before finally he dumped it to pursue bigger heavyweight gold, and there's some rumors that the UFC wants him to fight for interim gold vs Stipe on this same UFC 282 card.
