BJ Penn, the former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, was filmed getting in another street altercation in his home state of Hawaii. This fight had two parts with Penn being knocked out unconscious only for him to later find retribution outside of a dive bar known as the the Lava Shack. While the most common reaction to the video released by TMZ was revulsion or even fatigue, some tried to suggest the chief consideration was to assess blame for the fight itself. As I explain in this video, that's not an irrelevant consideration, but isn't even close to what really matters. What the UFC or relevant athletic commission will do next is hard to know. Penn is still slated to fight Nik Lentz at a time and place to be determined. UFC President Dana White has suggested it's the last time Penn will step foot in the Octagon. In terms of a time to close the book on his fighting career, we are long past the time that measure was warranted. -- MERCH: https://teespring.com/stores/luke-tho
