On the 20th of this month Francis Ngannou's contract with the UFC is supposed to expire. They need to keep him or they will lose the best heavyweight MMA fighter in the world right now. The UFC can dismiss the success of other guys outside of their organization and say if they came to the UFC they would lost against the best in the UFC, but they can't say that with Ngannou because he is their champ. Another reason they need to sign him is for the sake of MMA fans. If Ngannou leaves that will be the end of his career in terms of fighting competitive MMA fights. If he does any more MMA fights they will be competitive, he will be colossal favorite and should be able to crush the competition like grapes. Aside from that, if he left the UFC he would likely to a boxing match with Tyson Fury, that wouldn't be MMA, but regardless again that would not be a competitive matchup because Fury would be a colossal favorite there.
