At the Nevada Athletic Commission meeting, it was confirmed that Jon Jones tested positive for two anti-estrogen drugs
Jones attorney agreed to a temporary suspension hearing in either September or October.
USADA notes that Selective estrogen receptor modulators and other substances that block estrogen effects (anti-estrogens) are prohibited.
In the first half of this year, USADA conducted 985 tests. 858 of those were out of competition tests.
Jon Jones was tested a total of 6 times in the first half of 2016.
Jones turns 29 tomorrow. If he receives a 2 year suspension he will be 31 upon returning to action.
A 2 year layoff is a long time to be gone in MMA, but one of the athletes who managed to come back just as strong if not stronger, was Dominick Cruz who came back after amost 3 years off and stopped Takeya Mizugaki in 61 seconds. And Cruz had another year and a 4 months off due to injury and reclaimed the title he never lost against TJ Dillashaw.
